Processing: SL High-Relief Series
SL OCEAN, SL DIAMOND, SL PILLAR, SL FACET and SL TARGET processing and mounting
Our STRUCTURE-LINE is expanding with a true statement addition: the SL High-Relief Series.
This product line stands for particularly deep structures and striking designs – SL OCEAN, SL DIAMOND, SL PILLAR, SL FACET and SL TARGET create bold visual accents.
In combination with reflective and metallic surfaces, impressive light and color effects emerge, giving every surface an exceptional impact.
Due to the pattern, mechanical assembly (screws, spacers) is generally recommended.
Applications in the ceiling area must be attached mechanically.
We always recommend maintaining an expansion gap of 3 mm between the decorative panels. This allows the panels to expand in response to temperature variations.
Material Requirements
SL High-Relief design panel (self-adhesive or non-adhesive)
Depending on the type of mounting: screws, MS polymer, spacers, strongly adhesive double-sided tape.
Work on Material
CUTTING
Cut with the circular saw from the visible side and with the jigsaw from the reverse side.
For machine cutting, we recommend to use paper or veneer cutting machines.
MILLING
The speed (12,000 up to 24,000 rpm) and feed rate (max. 4 m/min) must be adjusted to suit the cutter diameter.
Decor side below: milling cutter with a right-hand twist, cutting right.
SAWING
SIBU guideline values:
HW 250×3.2 / 2.2×30 Z40 / 19.63 WZ/FA
HW 250×3.2 / 2.2×30 Z40 / 19.63 FZ/TR
(speed 6000 rpm, progressive feed of up to 25 m/min).
The best result is achieved with MDF underlay (4 mm) above and below, slow progressive feed and high speed.
HW (hard metal material),
WZ/FA (alternating teeth/bevelled edge),
FZ (flat teeth),
TR (trapezoidal teeth)
DRILLING
All SIBU DESIGN sheets can be drilled from the decor side.
All drillings must be carried out on a stable underlay (even MDF Board).
Drill recommendation:
Wood drills, Forstner drills and hard metal drills – each with a center punch with two pre-cutters.
Core drills for wood can also be employed, but in this case it is essential that in the area next to the drilling the patterned sheet is attached firmly to a stable underlay.
Wall Mounting
Bonding:
Self-adhesive (SA) SL High-Relief design panel
or
Non adhesive (NA) High-Relief panel with MS polymer glue (slightly lower adhesive consumption with bead application along the panel width).
Mechanical mounting:
With screws or spacers.
For mounting with screws, pre-drilling of the panel and use of round head screws is recommended!
Pre-drilling: Drill diameter = screw diameter + 1mm
Temporary mounting: (e.g.: use in shopwindow):
Design panels can also be mounted with tacker (staple)
Ceiling Mounting
Due to the structure, applications in ceiling areas must be mechanically mounted.
Suitable options include screws or spacers, for example.
Mechanical mounting:
- With screws/ spacers (mounting at 15 points recommended).
- Screwing on a stable substrate (e.g.: substructure of plasterboard, substructure of MDF or directly on MDF from a thickness of 16 mm, concrete, ….)
Pre-drilling: Drilling diameter = screw diameter + 1mm.
Mechanical assembly with gluing:
In combination with mechanical mounting, the design panel can be additionally glued with MS polymer or self-adhesive panels can be used.
TIP: To make mechanical installation easier, strongly adhesive double-sided tape can also be used selectively for the temporary fixation of the decorative panels.

Possible Finishes
Flame retardant version (FR):
Upon request, the decors can also be produced in a flame-retardant version (standards: ASTM E84 or EN 13501-1).
Scratch resistant surface (AR):
Decors that already carry the suffix “AR” in the product name are particularly abrasion-resistant. Additional colors with enhanced abrasion resistance are available upon request.
Self-adhesive finish (SA):
A self-adhesive option is available for all decors. The back of the decorative panels is coated with a high-quality K-66 adhesive, allowing them to be applied without additional glue to both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces (wall cladding). For ceiling applications, additional mechanical fastening is required.
